Brain-Based Personal Training
Apply current brain research and learning theories to optimize behavior change in your clients!
By Terry Eckmann, PhD

Successful personal trainers are essentially effective teachers. Teaching is the art of changing the brain by arranging information and experiences to stimulate learning. Learning alters thinking and perception and involves a change in behavior. Become a primary player in your clients’ attempts to make positive behavior changes and acquire true wellness by gaining information about how the brain works and how your clients learn. This course will take a brief look at brain anatomy and physiology; touch on learning styles, explore learning theories and lesson design as they relate to personal training. You’ll learn how to increase working memory, to provide valuable feedback to your clients, to use the six key aspects of motivation, and understand the role of emotions and mood in client success.
