Learn how the foam roller can be used as part of any client’s workout to improve balance, core stability, strength and flexibility. Gain the tools to evaluate posture and flexibility deficits and to use the foam roller to address these problem areas. Discover ways to challenge and improve the balance and reaction times of your clients. This course provides ideas for immediate application with clients of all ages and fitness levels.
Foam rollers include: 2 - 12" half rollers, 1 - 32" half roller, 1 - 12" full roller, 1 - 32" full roller. Roller set cannot be split.
Course Objectives: Identify clients appropriate for foam roller use.List the benefits of using the foam roller.Explain which sections of the client evaluation are most important when designing a foam roller exercise program.Recognize postural limitations that can be addressed by using the foam roller.Outline a program of foam roller exercises for flexibility, trunk stabilization, and balance training.Explain diaphragmatic breathing.Recognize the difference between exercises that promote general muscle flexibility and those that promote autogenic inhibition.Explain the progression of using the half and full foam roller.List the safety issues and precautions for using the foam roller.Identify strategies for challenging the client’s foam roller program. |
