Lori McCormick, PT Back

Ms. McCormick received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota in 1977. She worked as a clinical physical therapist with a geriatric concentration in orthopedic acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care, and outpatient clinics for nearly 20 years. She has enjoyed many opportunities to speak to other professionals and the public about physical health and fitness. She is the Project Manager for Bone Fitness--A Top Priority for Pre-Adolescent Children, a grant-funded project that is developing a physical education curriculum to train educators to teach bone fitness to elementary school children; serves on the Advisory Board for Arthritis Education by Professionals; is a member of the Geriatrics Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and certified as a Group Fitness Instructor by the American Council on Exercise. She joined the SIT AND BE FIT staff in 1997 as the Physical Therapist Consultant, and works closely with Mary Ann Wilson to develop and expand the SIT AND BE FIT program.
