Lauve Metcalfe, MS,CWC, FAWHP, is an educator, organizational health consultant and licensed wellness coach with over 30 years of expertise in worksite wellness, weight loss intervention and consumer education programming. She has a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, where she is a senior interventionist on National Institutes of Health exercise and weight loss research and community development projects.
Lauve has been an enthusiastic leader in the national health promotion field serving as a former president of the National Fitness Leaders Association and the Association for Worksite Health Promotion, she was a Clinician for the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and the program director for the Great American Workout at the White House for President George W Bush. Lauve is currently on the Board of Directors for the International Association for Workplace Health Promotion, and is a delegate for the Medical Wellness Association.
Lauve is the author of Reshaping Your Body, Rethinking Your Mind, and a co-author of the BEST Exercise Program for Osteoporosis Prevention. She wrote and performs a one-woman show entitled; “Snapshots of Life” which focuses on body image and self esteem development for girls and women.
Lauve received her Master of Science degree in Administration, Supervision and Curriculum Development of Health Promotion from Florida State University. She earned 7 intercollegiate letters in volleyball, softball and basketball at the University of Miami and continues to live an active lifestyle through hiking, cycling and howling at the moon on a regular basis.
