Veronica (Ronnie) Mullins completed a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from the University of Arizona in 1995. Immediately following graduation she began a nine-month Approved Pre-Professional Practice Program (AP4) at Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. In October of 1996, Veronica passed the American Dietetic Association National Registration Exam and became a registered dietitian. At the same time, she returned to school as a graduate student to continue her education in nutrition. During that time she worked for the Bone, Estrogen, Strength, Training (B.E.S.T.) study educating postmenopausal women on diet supplementation for an active lifestyle. She graduated in 1999 from the University of Arizona with a master’s degree in nutritional sciences and a focus on exercise physiology. She has written many publications on nutrition and body composition related to athletes and active individuals. She has been a member of the Nutrition Division of the Combined Event Athlete Development Project working with male and female U.S.A. Olympic track and field athletes since January 1997 and continues to work with Olympic athletes. From 2000 to 2004, Ronnie worked in the National Football League as the Team Nutritionist for the Arizona Cardinals, planning meals and providing nutrition counseling for players and staff. In 2004, Veronica earned her certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She spent one year, from 2004 to 2005, working as a sports nutrition specialist at Canyon Ranch Resort Spa in Tucson, Arizona. At the resort she worked providing individual counseling and group presentations to active individuals and athletes. As well as her work with Olympic and professional athletes, Veronica started T.O.P. Nutrition in 1999 and provides private nutrition consulting for other athletes and active individuals in her community. |
