Joseph Signorile, PhD, has been a member of the University of Miami faculty since 1989. In addition to his university position, he is also a senior researcher at the Stein Gerontological Institute of the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged, and a research health science specialist for the Miami VA Medical Center. Dr. Signorile’s research interests include prescriptive periodization training for older individuals, curriculum design for linking science and physical education in the public school setting, isokinetic mapping analyses for diagnosis and prescription, and electromyographic analysis of sports-specific training and testing techniques concentrating on power development. He has over 50 referred articles and book chapters, 100 published abstracts, and has given countless national and international presentations at scientific meetings. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Physiological Society, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. |
